Today's Thoughts...

A Levesque #61 - Last Rope

I can't even begin to describe the feelings that I have built up inside of me lately.  This is going to be personal mainly because God gifted me with the ability to not care about your opinion, and this blog isn't for people who know me per se.  It's mainly for my children so they can look and see everything will work out.   NO MATTER WHAT THERE WILL ALWAYS BE HOPE. I've been struggling. Never have I seen such selfishness. Never have I seen so much greed. Never have I seen so much betrayal.  Never have I seen families ripped apart because of ego and pride.   My house and my family will not be torn apart in the process.  We serve the Lord, and no weapon formed against us will prosper.  We are formed on a rock, not sand to blow away when trials come our way.   Somedays will be hard. Shit, somedays are hard. Somedays it will rain. Then, Somedays the sun will shine so bright you'll forget that it was ever raining.  Never give up on those you love.   Pray for them from

A.Levesque #17 - Friends Old, New & Social U

Just as I promised, I have been doing my homework...

Social "U"

Great group of people.  Tomorrow marks their end of the summer picnic.  Not that the events are over, but the season is drawing an end.  Friends of friends and family are all having a wonderful time (trust me I looked through all their pictures).  Tomorrow's location is set Caro, MI at the Darbee Park.

This is the organization
Social "U" is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that was specifically created to provide a social outlet for adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities once they have aged out of the educational system.  Our organization is filling a void for these individuals by providing a social outlet in a non-judgemental, safe group of their peers.  It gives them a chance to connect with old friends and make new friends.
Since their official first meeting in May of  2015, their attendance has almost tripled.  Each month has a themed meeting at different locations throughout Tuscola County Michigan.  These meetings have open floor time and all kinds of things to help fill that void that has been created by aging out of the educational system.  They have even adopted a highway.  This is a great example of people coming together and doing things for the better good.

They do have a few links I want to share to help them out a bit.

First, they have a t-shirt link.  OMG, THEY ARE ONLY $5...
GO AHEAD YOU CAN GET ONE!

Second, they do have a donation link as well.
DONATION LINK

However, these ladies are determined and have this message onsite:
Listed below are just a few of the many items we could use for our meetings and outings....
  1. Craft items - construction paper, silk flowers, paints, beads, foam blocks
  1. Art items - paint, crayons, paper, markers
  1. Games - board games, outside games, Wii, Wii games and controllers
  1. Technology - computer, printer, computer ink
  1. Group items - t-shirts, name tags, hats
  1. Sponsors - we would love to have sponsors to help with the cost of community outings
Just a little inside information, the buy ticket link.  It is used for reservation purposes.  The group asks for a $2 donation only if you can afford it when you get to the party.  They will not turn you away if you cannot pay.

Helping people help people makes us happier people.  Can you literally say that five times?  Share with your friends.  You never know who might actually need this program.  If it gets to just one person who needs it, it counts.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read tonights' feature.  I will be actively looking for more groups and more people to showcase.  These people need a pat on the back because what they are doing really does matter.

Thank you Social U for doing what you do.  We appreciate your work.

Love You.
